Scripture to Read: Luke Chapter 24 “But on the first day of the week, at early dawn,
the women went to the tomb bringing the spices which they had
prepared [to finish anointing the body]. And they found the
[large, circular] stone rolled back from the tomb, but when
they went inside, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.”
Luke 24:1-3 AMP The Immortal Words
that changed eternity forever.
He is Risen.
Such a simple statement that
changed the universe.
As we look to these words,
do they truly resonate in your heart?
Have you prepped your spiritual soil
for receiving the magnitude of what this means?
It’s time to till the soil and let
God’s Resurrected Son Change Your World!
It’s Easter. Did you get new things to wear? Made sure that at
the least all the crew were cleaned and looking their best
for service today? It’s tradition and what we do, right?
The women who followed Jesus’ ministry had prepped spices.
It was the cultural habit to help preserve the body But they
missed a big point. They got so caught up in religious and
cultural tradition, that they totally disregarded what the
Messiah Himself told them.
They had watched Jesus. Followed His ministry, some even
personally touched by His miracles and acts of Love. But they
sure missed it big. They came to preserve Him in Death, but
He had clearly said He would rise again. He Would Die, but
He would live again.
Have you ever been guilty of this? Sometimes we get caught
in religious or societal actions that get in the way of us truly
receiving the heart of what Jesus is bringing to us. Martha did
the same thing in John 11. She was so caught up in her
settings and the circumstances, she lost site of who Jesus
was and what He could do for Lazarus right then.
These women had seen and heard Jesus many times, but
they let the ground of their hearts be ill prepared for what He
had to say. Oh they thought it all sounded nice, but it really
had not been given room to take root. So when the true
challenges and trials came, they let His Word wither and die
in the face of their circumstances.
We are just as bad, really. We get caught up in a lot of
religious traditions, dictates of society, and even just the
overall circumstances of things around us during a challenge.
and we miss the true and total effects of what God has for us.
We have let something else grow in our spiritual gardens and
hearts. We are missing the good stuff from God because of it.
Today let us look at what we have let take root. Does it line up
with God’s Word? If not, let’s do some gardening and make
room for the really good stuff from God. It’s time we had fruits
from our Garden that make us resemble Christ - Victory,
Health, Peace of Mind, Being in God’s Perfect Will. Happiness.
This Easter, let the good Stuff of God Grow big in you!
